ICE Diagnostics P2
Just spent an hour or so in the dark tracing all the cables from the drivers side amp, under the door sill panel, round and under the steering rack/dashboard, through to the passenger footwell and through a gromit in the firewall to the engine bay, no faults found there. Some of the cable ends going into the amp looked a bit dodgy so i re-did those and still nothing…
Just by chance, I thought that perhaps the fuse may have gone between the battery and the firewall in the engine bay, so I popped the bonnet and found the fuses. I swapped the fuses around (so that the front speakers fuse went to the sub, and vice versa) and my god, after pulling half the car apart the driver’s side amp powered on!! Looks like it is a blown fuse then. I confirmed this just by switching them back and this time the sub came on, swapped again and the front speakers came on.
First thing tomorrow (ideally before work, but perhaps in my lunch break if not) I will be going to Benetts and to Car Solutions Welwyn and just hope that one of them stocks the fuse I need! If they do, I’ll get two, just in case…
